Thanks for expressing an interest in Oxford City Council and the opportunity to be at the heart of our plans for housing services.
Oxford is an extraordinary City renowned for its historic city centre, its two globally famous universities and cutting-edge medical and scientific research and innovation.
It has the characteristics and complexities of a much larger city. It is one the most ethnically diverse places in the South East and our vibrant cultural scene and ethnic diversity make it a lively and interesting place to be.
With success comes challenges. Lack of land for housing and employment, transport infrastructure that is at full capacity, and major skills gaps threaten to constrain the city’s growth potential and there are major inequalities in residents’ life chances and life expectancy.
The City Council is ambitious for the City’s future, determined to build on its strengths and address these challenges. This includes becoming a net zero carbon City, transforming the City's transport network, and tackling our housing crisis by building high-quality, affordable homes.
We're also securing investments and delivering major development and regeneration projects which will transform areas of the city for the future, and we're working to create a more inclusive economy. We’re passionate about celebrating our diversity and making Oxford a place where everyone feels a sense of identity and belonging and is able to thrive.
We’re an entrepreneurial Council and we use our two wholly owned companies, our involvement in several joint ventures and our assets not only to deliver the Council's policy aims but also to generate an income that we then reinvest in services. We call this the Oxford model, and it's been fundamental to the success of the Council.
The role of Asset Manager is a new and critical role for delivering our business plan and investment programme for our portfolio of 8,000 homes. We're looking for an exceptional and collaborative individual to join our leadership team and make a real difference to tenant satisfaction.
